The Wound
Thirteen championships, more than any house in the realm. A stadium that is a place of pilgrimage. And the bannermen literally own the team β no lord above them, no owner to hate. It is the most beloved arrangement in the sport.
The wound is what they have done with two of the greatest quarterbacks who ever lived. Twenty-nine consecutive seasons with a Hall of Fame lord under centre, and one throne to show for it, in February 2011. The realm considers this among the great wastes in the history of the sport, and Green Bay is quietly aware.
The Lord
Jordan Love. The third in the sequence, still establishing whether he belongs in it. Last year: 9β7β1, and a first-round exit at Chicago, 31β27, which is the worst possible way for this house to end a season.
The Knights
- Devonte Wyatt β extended at fifty-seven million.
- Javon Hargrave β twenty-three million, added to the Watch.
Ancient Grudges
- House Bears. The oldest rivalry in the sport. Green Bay is winning it and has been for thirty years.
- House Vikings, House Lions. Cold, close, and unpleasant.
What Changed This Spring
They lost Rashan Gary to Dallas and Dontayvion Wicks to Philadelphia, and reinvested in the Watch with Wyatt and Hargrave. A lateral offseason for a house that lost in the first round.
Prophecy
That the third lord is the one who doesnβt waste it.
